Illuminating E-Commerce with a royal touch.
MamboXpress was a collaboration with Muranda Mambo Pty Ltd, a sustainable energy company based in Johannesburg. The goal was to launch an e-commerce arm, MamboXpress, enabling direct access to their product range and boosting brand visibility.
Our aim to create a regal online shopping experience for those new to renewable energy products. The challenge was to emphasize customer-first approach. Using Shopify, we ensured seamless social media integration and automated order handling.
The challenge was to design a standout store in a growing e-commerce landscape. The green-energy branding was common; we needed a fresh angle. Organising the extensive product catalog for easy navigation posed another hurdle.

Collaborating closely, Gala Digital and MamboXpress painted a regal brand image. The mix of purple and gold hues represented exclusivity. People-centric imagery and lifestyle photos created a personal shopping vibe. Automation streamlined order fulfillment, connecting with Facebook, Instagram, and automated emails.
We crafted a special shopping experience, standing out from what others offered. MamboXpress’ ads and branding got garnered a lot of attention online. While we did get some sales, we didn’t predict how reluctant the market was to e-commerce at that time, and how big a budget for advertising we needed to create an impact then. We started early, but we missed out on the big e-commerce boom after the pandemic, which happened a few years later.
